So how does the Cine 7 perform outdoors in sunny conditions? As I previously mentioned, I had no problem using the Cine 7 outdoors, even in direct sunlight.

All of the TV signals and Internet data are transmitted in a spectrum of 6-MHz wide channels. Since a coax cable has a bandwidth as wide as 850 MHz to 1 GHz, the system can accommodate from 140 to 170 downstream channels of 6 MHz each. The TV signals or Internet data are modulated on to carriers in each channel. There are also upstream channels that allow the consumer to transmit data back to the headend. This communication takes places in 6-MHz channels as well that occupy the cable spectrum from 5 MHz to 40 MHz or in some systems up to 65 MHz.

Besides that, no major metropolitan area has anywhere near to 5000 cell towers, or even a few or even a few hundred cell towers. You are, in a word, full of it. The satellites will use the same modulation technology as cell towers, as they are solving the same problem, high data rates over a radio channel. O.K they can avoid the spectrum splitting needed by cell towers, and do not need the phone channels, but that isn’t go to enable a few satellites over a metropolitan area to offer anything like the same total capacity as the cell phone system.

On the bottom of the Cine 7 you will find recessed SDI IN and SDI IN/OUT ports, the HDMI IN and HDMI IN/OUT ports, the ethernet port, and the 2 pin Lemo power input. The Cine 7 does cross conversion between SDI and HDMI and HDMI and SDI.

A less expensive and less data-heavy option might be to wire airplanes to emit so-called “triggered transmissions”—a system by which certain parameters are transmitted only when sensors detect something has gone awry. lets say I get 500 channels for $100 a month, I am not actually going to watch all 500 channels, I’m not actually going to watch even 100 channels, I’ll watch at most maybe 5 channels. so if we naively assume that each of those channels is $5 because they aren’t then I’m paying $100 a month to watch $25 worth of channels. Even if I want to get a "bad deal" via streaming and pay $15 a month to watch those 5 channels it will cost me $75 a month which last I checked is cheaper than $100 a month.
